What is the initial sign if the client is being monitored for signs of Hyperkalemia?

- muscle weakness

Rationale: The potassium plays a major role in neuromuscular activity, elevation in serum potassium initially causes muscle weakness. Mental status changes and confusion are most likely to be noted in the client experiencing hypocalcemia. Depressed deep tendon reflexes are noted in the client with hypermagnesemia.
